Flights
The main airport in Glasgow is Glasgow International although there are cheap flights to Prestwick Airport and it is also feasible to fly into Edinburgh.Airport Connections
Both Glasgow International and Edinburgh airports are connected to the railway and bus stations via a bus link. Prestwick is easily accessible by rail during daytime, but flights arriving past 23:00 may be left without cheap transport into Glasgow.If staying in the West End or travelling directly to the venue, it may be better to travel by taxi from Glasgow International.
Edinburgh - Glasgow Connections
Glasgow and Edinburgh are about 50 minutes apart on the train. Trains run at 00 and 30 minutes past the hour from 0630 to 2330. There are also trains at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour from 0700 to 1900. Tickets can be purchased at the station before travel. The main railway stations are Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Queen Street.It is also possible to travel by bus, which is a slightly longer and slightly cheaper journey.
Getting Around
Between Glasgow centre or train stations, it is easiest to take a taxi. The venue (Kelvin Gallery, Hunterian Museum, University of Glasgow) is 3 km west of the city centre.Glasgow has a metro which connects the University of Glasgow (Hillhead metro station) to Queen St. railway station (Buchanan Street metro station). The metro runs every 4 to 6 minutes Monday through Saturday between 0640 and 2330 and slightly less frequently on Sundays. From Hillhead station, it is approximately a 10 minute walk to the venue.
